Your privacy policy
In principle, you need to include the bot in your privacy policy and add a corresponding text passage. We have already provided a text module that you are welcome to use or extend.
General
With this privacy notice, we inform you below about the processing of your personal data when using melibo. Protecting your personal data is important to us. Your data is protected in particular under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG). As a rule, no personal data is collected, processed or used when using the chatbot. Use of the chatbot is voluntary. You are free to contact us by other means.
According to Art. 4 No. 1 of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your first and last name, address, phone number, email address and also your IP address.
Data that cannot be linked to you, for example through anonymization, is not personal data. Processing (e.g. collecting, storing, reading, querying, using, transmitting, deleting or destroying) pursuant to Art. 4 No. 2 GDPR always requires a legal basis or your consent. Processed personal data must be deleted as soon as the purpose of processing has been fulfilled and no statutory retention obligations apply.
We also explain the type and scope of each data processing operation, its purpose and the corresponding legal basis, as well as the respective storage period.
Users must read and expressly agree to the data processing described in this privacy policy before using the services.

Scope and type of data processing
Data is not passed on to third parties or otherwise evaluated unless there is a legal obligation to do so (Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR). Beyond this, we do not collect any further personal data when you use melibo.
Log and statistical data
Each time our chatbot is accessed, the dialogs are saved in a log file. The data does not allow any personal identification of a chat user. It is used exclusively to improve the dialogs and for error analysis and is not passed on to third parties.
Cookies
For the melibo widget to work, cookies are stored in the user's browser. These cookies are technically necessary and are only filled with data once the chat is used. They are deleted after 30 days. Before that, they serve a purely technical purpose to make the service chat possible in the first place.
Security
Your questions and analytics data are transmitted to melibo securely via SSL encryption (transport encryption). Access is protected by firewalls that prevent unauthorized external access.
